Il Vecchio raided by Home Office Immigration officers
Il Vecchio restaurant in Heywood was raided by Home Office immigration officers on Friday (17 April).
A 27-year-old man from Malawi was arrested for overstaying his visa and is now detained and pending removal from the UK.
The restaurant, on Manchester Street, was served a notice warning that a financial penalty of up to £20,000 will be imposed unless evidence is provided that legally required pre-employment checks were carried out.
