The Lancashire Flag flying proudly along Hare Hill Road
Littleborough shops are flying the Lancashire flag in a bid to brighten up the main shopping streets.
Shops on Hare Hill Road, Church Street and Victoria Street have had flagpoles installed and are currently flying the yellow flag of our traditional county.
The plan is for the flags to be changed at special events such as St George's Day, Christmas and other events during the year.
The flags have been organised by Ruth Holt, who owns the Shoe Closet on Hare Hill Road.
Ruth said "I thought we needed something to unite the village together and the response has been overwhelming. I have just had to order another 25 flags and poles today, I just can't believe it."
However, it is not just the businesses who are keen to get involved.
"I had a young man of 11-years-old in the shop after school with his mum," said Ruth. "He handed me a bag full of coins saying he wanted to buy a flag for Hare Hill House."
