Siddal Moor Field Trip to Ingleton Waterfalls
Date published: 09 June 2015
A group of Siddal Moor Year 8 students visited Ingleton Waterfalls in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, supported by some of the new prefect team in Year 10 and members of staff from the Geography Department.
The aim of the visit was to experience geography fieldwork in a natural environment and to support the learning of river environments. The fine weather contributed to a rewarding and fun day for all.
Students had the opportunity to measure the width and depth of the river to determine if it got deeper downstream, identified risks of working in rivers and sketched the creation of a waterfall at Thornton Force.
The work they did on the day will be used to help them in the classroom.
