Students make furniture for nursery

Date published: 10 June 2015

Happy Jacks Day Nursery on Todmorden Road, Littleborough has new toys and furniture for their new pre-school garden thanks to students at Alternative Construction Education.

Having designed and made the toys, the students proudly presented them to Happy Jacks along with a ‘Mud Kitchen’ as well as a bench and planters.

Rebecca Atkinson-Mills, Alternative Construction Education said: "Their efforts were highly praised by the very excited staff at the nursery, and our students left with self-satisfaction and pride.

"This project has not only enables the students to develop useful skills but they have also played a major part in helping the community."

Alternative Construction Education opened their doors to students in September and aims to help learners to become work ready, everything that they produce has a purpose or is related to real life.
