Littleborough Big Games

Date published: 27 June 2015

Link4Life took over Littleborough Sports Centre today (Saturday 27 June) for the annual Big Games event.

The Big Games focuses on children and families and provided free activities and taster sessions.

Claire Costigan, Sports and Leisure Manager, said: “It is about giving children the opportunity to try a variety of different activities for free and gives them the chance to try something new.”

Activities were on offer for all ages and included a soft play area, craft activities, an assault course, football, tennis, archery, high ropes, a Punch and Judy show and face painting.

The Big Games started around five years ago and is held across the borough at various locations.

Claire added: “The Big Games has become really popular and for a smaller venue like this, we would usually see a couple of hundred people coming along, which is really good. It has gone well today and we seem to have attracted a variety of children.”

The Big Games is in partnership with Link4Life’s Activ8te Me scheme. The scheme aims to get more people active by specialising in low cost, easy access sessions across a range of sports.
