Wardle Village Fete

Date published: 19 July 2015

Wardle Village Fete returned for the second year and was bigger and better than the inaugural event.

Held on Wardle Football Club playing fields on Saturday (18 July) , the event included a dog show, donkey rides, arts and crafts, fairground rides, a bouncy castle, face painting and food stalls.

Princess Elsa also paid a visit to the fete to have photos taken with children.

Volunteers from Rochdale McDonalds gave their time to help man the stalls at the fair and also contributed to the clean-up process afterwards.

McDonald’s franchisee Gerald Thompson said: “We are so pleased to support the summer fete in Wardle. The team of six volunteers from Rochdale McDonald’s manned stalls and helped the local football team clean up after the day’s events."

Organiser Rebecca Hilton said: “It is definitely bigger and better because last year it was just on a small car park. Even though I have organised a lot of it on my own, the Football Club have helped, so next year I hope they can be involved even more.

“I’m really pleased with how it has all gone.”

Andrea Hilton added: “The turnout has been great and it is bigger than last year. It will be back next year and will be even bigger.”
