Man arrested for drink driving after family left with minor injuries following collision

A man has been arrested for drink driving after his lorry collided with a car on Bury New Road, Heywood leaving a man and two children with minor injuries.
Police were called to the scene at 4.10pm this afternoon (Saturday 29 August) to reports that a lorry had collided with a car.
When they arrived, the lorry driver had left.
The man was travelling in the car with two children and all sustained minor injuries in the collision.
The lorry driver later returned to the scene and was arrested for drink driving.
Bury New Road was closed for some time but has since reopened.
