Falinge Park 5 - 1 Wardle

Date published: 23 September 2015

Tuesday 22 September saw Falinge Park High School Year 10 Football Team continue their winning start to the season with some clinical attacking football.

Team Falinge surprisingly began second best and had to battle their way into the game with some excellent defending by centre back duo Trey Doyle and Man of the Match Yusuf Khan keeping Wardle at bay. This solid base allowed Falinge to counter attack with Tom Hartley springing the offside trap, racing clear and cooling lobbing the keeper.

The Falinge lead was quickly doubled when a majestic right wing cross by Tahsin Asraf was turned home by Tom for his, and the Falinge second goal. Half-time 2-0.

Half-time and Team Falinge were awestruck by the tactical perspicacity of their managerial duo Van Gaal and Giggs (aka Jundi and Hodgson).

Second half and Team Falinge took the game to Wardle, dominating with some compelling passing play. The pressure paid off and the Falinge lead was increased when a defender inadvertently put the ball passed his own keeper.

Tom Hartley completed his hat trick with skill, strength and the clinical calmness that is fast becoming his trademark. Callum Harrison, who has scored in every game he has played since the beginning of Year 9, completed the Falinge scoring with a classy curling left footed finish. With Falinge sniffing out more goals, Wardle scored a deserved goal of their own as the game drew to a close. Full time 5-1.
