Hot on the heels of our Flower Festival and 120th Anniversary celebrations last weekend, we have our Harvest Festival this coming Sunday, 4 October.
As part of the build-up, we have a ‘Messy Harvest’ children’s workshop in the parish room on Saturday afternoon between 2.30pm and 4.00pm.
We will be ‘harvesting’ food for the Foodbank; making donations for Christian Aid refugees; and also contributing items such as socks, hats, gloves and towels for Petrus.
The Harvest Festival service takes the form of a sung Family Eucharist at 9.30am on Sunday, followed at 6.00pm by a meeting of the Young People’s Group in the parish room.
Remaining parish lunches in this calendar year will be on 30 October, 27 November and 18 December.
You only need to inform Elizabeth (376660 or 07939 491 545) if you a regular who is NOT attending or if you are attending for the first time.
We are replacing battered hymn books and also buying some versions in large print.
in the parish room.
Throughout October there will be an opportunity for people to donate a hymn book in memory of somebody or in thanksgiving to God for someone or something in your life.
The donation is £10 per book and envelopes and forms will be available for completion throughout the month inn the parish room.
Finally a huge thank-you to all who contributed to a memorable Flower Festival and 120th Anniversary weekend. It was a massive milestone along the route of St Andrew’s service to the local community from way back in 1895.
