Taxi driver injured and White Hart pub evacuated after crash

A taxi driver was injured after his car crashed into the White Hart pub on Heywood Old Road/Langley Lane, Middleton. The pub has been evacuated for safety checks.
A police spokesperson said: “Police were called at 3.12pm to reports of a vehicle crashing into the pub. The council, fire brigade and ambulance service were also called and the pub evacuated. It looks like the driver has had to swerve to avoid something in the road and has crashed into the pub. The driver has minor cuts and scrapes.”
Heywood Old Road, Birch is closed and traffic is very slow in both directions at the Langley Lane junction.
