Falinge Park Year 10 Football: Falinge Park 1 – 2 Middleton

Date published: 22 October 2015

21 October saw Team Falinge performance levels remain high but results take a temporary stumble.

Team Falinge, watched on by Rochdale’s Lewis Alessandra, took to battle against a strong and tall Middleton side. Neat interplay saw Falinge open up a number of early chances through Kamrul Hussain who remained a constant threat to the Middleton defence with some classy forward play. Playing a new 3-5-2 formation, the Falinge dominance told as Atif Latif scored his first goal for Team Falinge with a neat and composed finish. The game began to even out with neither side creating many chances as half time closed in.

Half-time 1-0.

Half-time and Team Falinge were reminded that teamwork makes the dream work by their managerial duo Mr Jundi and Mr Hodgson.

Second half and Team Falinge again applied the pressure and chances came and went with Man of the Match Trey Doyle keeping the opposition at bay with some strong and imperious defending.

With Falinge focussed on attack, Middleton grabbed an equaliser after a quick counter attack. As the game drew to a close and with Falinge going all out for the win, Middleton hit Team Falinge with a long ball over the top which saw them take the lead for the first time. There was little time left for Falinge to mount any sort of fightback.

Full time 1-2.

Despite this result, the teamwork, resilience and determination shown by the team is a constant source of pride for both Mr Jundi and Mr Hodgson.
