'Keith’s Chiefs' raise over £2,000 in memory of Keith Marshall

Date published: 24 November 2015

Keith Marshall, a highly respected physicist, electrical engineer and father of Zac, died suddenly of a heart attack six months ago. Keith lived in Rochdale and was Managing Director of Wardpower, a Sheffield based supplier of major project to the National Grid.

Inspired to do something in Keith’s memory, five members of St Michael's CofE Church Bamford, the school his son Zac attends, undertook the High Peak Hike in Derbyshire on Sunday 15 November to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.

The team, Halina Clowes, John Knott, Sean Clowes, Jennifer Baxendale and Peter Walsh named themselves 'Keith’s Chiefs' in memory of their sadly departed friend.

Despite storm force winds, driving rain and a few blisters, the team completed the 17.5 mile hike in five hours.

An exceptional £2,400 was raised in the process.

The team said: “With the help of friends, family and St Michael's Church we have managed to raise a nearly £2,400 for the British Heart Foundation with money still coming in/being donated.

“We are overwhelmed by all the sponsorship and would like to say a big thank you to all of you who have supported us.”
