Mayor's charity donates £15,000 for Christmas treats

Date published: 08 December 2015

Councillor Carol Wardle, ex-Mayor of Rochdale, presented a cheque to the Foster Carer's Forum for the ‘looked after children's Christmas party’ on Sunday 6 December.

Councillor Wardle said: “This year with cuts from the government it was looking as if there would be either no presents, or very paltry ones.

“I gave them £15,000 from my Mayor's charity to provide a decent present for the younger children, and a trip to the cinema or bowling, etc. for the older ones.”
