Rotarians have a ‘magic’ charter
Date published: 14 March 2012
Keith Banks is looking astounded at a balloon sausage dog having just realised that the wristwatch he was wearing is sealed inside the balloon. His wife Joan, President of the Rochdale Club, is close to uproarious collapse.
Members of the Rotary Club of Middleton joined together for the Club’s 78th Anniversary Charter Night recently – which featured skilful and humorous table magician Magic Matt.
Magic Matt, aka Matt Windsor, left guest Keith Banks looking astounded after a balloon sausage dog he created had the wristwatch Mr Banks had been wearing moments earlier sealed inside.
Of course, the rest of the table had been let into the secret by Magic Matt and enjoyed Mr Bank’s astonishment.
The Charter, held at the Norton Grange Hotel, has been described as “a very entertaining evening.”
Those in attendance included District Governor, David Ellis and his wife, Denise.
The speaker for the evening was Peter Ellis, David and Denise’s son, who works professionally in the theatre. Peter has been producing his own animation films, along the lines of Wallace Gromit, and Peter gave an interesting insight into all the work involved in making animation films.
