Littleborough Rugby Union junior Georgia Turner in debut for North of England

Date published: 08 April 2016

Georgia Turner 14, from Littleborough, enjoyed a starring role in her first start for the North of England junior women’s team last weekend.

Making her Northern England debut at the Birmingham Exiles Rugby Club against the South East of England, Georgia set up one of the best tries in an enthralling contest and produced fantastic tackles one after another to ensure it would be a day to remember.

Georgia, who goes to Wardle Academy, has been an integral part of the Littleborough women’s junior team since its inception in 2015 and has also made numerous stand out appearances for Lancashire as well as Littleborough Rugby Union, which is where she appeared on the North of England radar.

After successfully negating tough trials with over 50 girls competing for a space in the squad, Georgia continued to produce high quality performances in the training camps to earn herself a spot in the starting 15.

South East of England came out on top securing a 52-47 victory but with her individual display, Georgia did Littleborough Warriors, LRUFC and herself proud.
