Rochdale Online Alliance Football League

Date published: 12 May 2016

The third final of the Rochdale Online Alliance Football League season takes place this coming Monday evening, 16 May, as Fothergill & Whittles FC face Wardle Old Boys in The President’s Cup at Spotland, home of Rochdale AFC.

Whilst outgoing Premier Division Champions Fothergill & Whittles will start the final as strong favourites their First Division opponents, Wardle OB, go into the final on a run of eight straight victories, including last Saturday’s superb 2-1 win over Premier Division Runners up Rochdale Sacred Heart.

Fothergill have had a somewhat trickier path to the final, starting in the Preliminary Round at Hargreaves, and a comfortable semi final victory over Falcon 2nds was preceded by a last gasp win at Division 1 Champions Rochdale Asia in the quarter final.

An open and entertaining game is in prospect as the thirty fourth, and possibly final, Rochdale Online Alliance Football League season reaches its conclusion.

The Management Committee says it is extremely grateful to all at Rochdale AFC for agreeing to host the final, the League’s first for many years, and it is hoped as many spectators as possible will attend to mark the occasion.

Normal admission prices will apply; £2 for adults and £1 for concessions. Kick off 6.30pm.
