Jack Morley earns call to ‘Best Of’ clash

Date published: 15 August 2016

Jack Morley, from heywood Cricket Club, has received further recognition as he continues to make his name in the junior cricketing world.

The 15-year-old has been chosen in a Midlands/North side to play the South/West and London/East from August 28-30 in a ‘Best of Bunbury’ match at the National Cricket Performance Centre at Loughborough University.

He is one of only two Lancashire players from the North Under-15s side which played in the recent Bunbury Festival to earn selection for the game, the other being  Sam Dorsey of Clifton.

The Midlands/North squad is: Jack Haynes (Worcs), Sam Dorsey (Lancs), Richard Bell (Lincs), Hamidullah Qadri (Derby), Jack Morley (Lancs), Dan Mousley (Warwicks), James Taylor (Staffs), Matt Davis (Worcs), Dominic Leech (Yorks), Louis Botes (Cheshire), Xavier Clarke (Shrops), Ben Griffin (Warwicks).

Following that, Morley will be hoping to earn selection for an elite Bunbury 12 to play an MCC side – managed by former Heywood favourite Steve Kirby – at Lord’s.

The ultimate could be a place in a select Under-15 squad of 14 players to undergo a week’s tour of Sri Lanka around Easter in 2017.
