Hornets 2017 kit launch

Date published: 13 December 2016

Hornets launched their new home and away kits at the Flying Horse Hotel in Rochdale on Tuesday (13 December) night.

Both home and away kits reflect Hornet's history and heritage but also point to the future.

The home kit keeps the Hornets traditional red, white and blue hoops, but with an extra gold hoop to mark the fact that Hornets are league champions.

The away kit is grey, a colour hornets wore in the 1930s.

The 2017 kits will see a new name on the front in TBA Protective Technologies.

Ensign has taken the back shoulder patch whilst Molesworth’s, Emma Conway Training, Red Butterfly Bakery, Walk Right Podiatry, Colour Copier Company and The Quirky Catering Co. return for 2017.

The launch night included live music by Rochdale band Idol Frets, the opportunity to talk with players, to have photos taken with the new shirts, and of course the opportunity to pre-order shirts.

Hornets Director, Luke Harrison said: “I am made up with the work Surridge has done to provide us with two fantastic designs for 2017. It’s going to be a huge year for us and Surridge has also explained how important it is for them to showcase their product at a higher level in the Championship.

“It’s been a long and arduous process getting these designs signed off and over the line ready for Christmas and I would like to thank members for their patience.

"Surridge has been incredibly supportive throughout the design period and for me personally it’s the first time I’ve worked on a project of this scale and it’s great to see it now in the flesh.

“There will also be a brand new range of off field wear available in the new year, possibly February, ready for the start of the season. Surridge has designed a bespoke line for us and it is really smart, I think it’s something the members will love”.

Hornets chairman, Mark Wynn said: "The first shirts are expected later this week, and will make great Christmas presents. Call into the club or call 01706 648004 to pre-order."
