Siddal Moor students Handball Champions
Four Siddal Moor students were members of the girl’s Under 16 Greater Manchester Handball squad that was crowned county handball champions.
The girls travelled to Stoke Mandeville in Aylesbury with the rest of the team for the finals of the EHA County Championships.
The GM team qualified for the semi-finals beating Sussex, Essex and Shropshire but losing to Devon.
They met Essex again in the semi-final and comfortably beat them again, 9-4.
They met Devon in the final, who they had lost too earlier in the day.
The Greater Manchester girls showed true resilience in a hard fought final with the team being the stronger of the two beating Devon 9-5.
A spokesperson said: "All four of the Siddal Moor students were a credit to the school and their club, NEM Hawks, showing real determination and a desire to win, throughout the whole of the day."
