In a thriller of a game at Rakewood, a try in the final play of the game from Sam Plant preserved Littleborough Ladies unbeaten start to 2017.

With the scores level at 15 each, Littleborough's Phlaire Harrison had the chance to win the game with the resulting conversion attempt, however, the anxious crowd could only watch the kick sail left of the posts and leave both teams to share the spoils.

Visitors Windermere did not come 90 miles for damage limitation and showed right from the off that they mean business scoring the first try.

Littleborough regained composure and possession to pressurise a solid Windermere defence. 

A flowing move that saw the ball move through at least four pairs of hands gave Rebecca Park space to race clear from 20 metres out and dot down for a Littleborough try.

Winderemere's impressive inside centre scored two tries of similar individual quality. A quick tap and a missed high tackle saw her evade to score in the left corner.

Jess Frain drove over the line from five metres out for Littleborough's second try.

Winderemere's inside centre handed off two defenders to score in the left corner for her second to give her side the lead.

So with two minutes left on the clock, it was all or nothing for Littleborough to save their unbeaten run.

They pounded the Windermere line with one strong carry after another. Eventually the pressure paid and with a three woman overlap on the right, Sam Plant crossed the line to make it 15-15 and save the day for the Pink Warriors.
