Ju Jitsu: Cobra Kai celebrates 100% pass rate at latest grading

Date published: 26 June 2017

There was a 100% pass rate at the latest Cobra Kai Ju Jitsu grading.

Students trying to achieve a higher grade on their journey to becoming a black belt were graded by three sensei from Scotland, Archie Higgins, 6th Dan, Craig Jones, 2nd Dan, and Jason Beveridge, 2nd Dan.

Since it started in 1998, running one session per week at Moss Mill, Cobra Kai now operates clubs in four areas.

Chief coach is Dave Martin, 6th Dan, also teaches Kobudo (weapon work) and adapts the syllabus as required for students with challenging physical restrictions.

Jade Martin, a sensei at Cobra Kai, who has suffered serious health challengers and has a pacemaker, got through to the finals at the Greater Manchester Sports Awards where she was presented with a Physical Activity Award.

The dojo has around 80 students ranging from age five to 73 of all abilities from beginner to 2nd dan black belt.
