Premiership

The biggest winners on the day were undoubtedly Heyside languishing in the lower reaches of the league table. Playing at home in a 'derby' fixture against high flying local rivals Crompton, they rattled up 257 all out with Declan Wilkinson scoring a maiden senior cricket century with exactly 100.

When they batted Crompton never recovered from a terrible mix up which saw Denis Louie run out for 0 in the second over of their innings . Thereafter wickets tumbled quickly to the seam bowling of Heyside pro Bilal Khiljee who took 4 for 17 and Scott Bloor 5 for 34 to be all out for 52.

Norden also had a resounding victory , winning by 9 wickets in another home 'derby' against Rochdale. Naved Zamurad took 5 for 21 in dismissing the visitors for 87.

Littleborough lost by one wicket at home to Austerlands. Batting first they totalled 196 for 7 with Ryan Miskella making 81. Lee Milner taking 4 for 44 for Austerlands who then replied with 199 for 9.

Monton & Weaste were another side to win by 9 wickets. Josh Lenihan with 3 for 13 and Furan Shafiq 3 for 7 dismissing Stayley for only 81. Monton replying with 83 for 1.

Greenfield made 183 for 7 at home to Walsden, but with Professional Umesh Karunaratne hitting 106 not out , Walsden replied with 184 for 8. Bradley Woolley being Greenfield’s most successful bowler in taking 4 for 33.

In the only match when overs were reduced due to rain Saddleworth scored 81 for 6 when facing a revised target of 164 in 33 overs away to Glodwick. Imran Asghar taking 3 for 20 for the home side .

Earlier Glodwick had scored 207 for 5 with Professional Rehan Rafiq and Franco Lenhardt sharing a stand of 128. Rafiq making 91 and Lenhardt 47.

Norden with 43 points lead the table from Walsden 41 points.

Championship

The highest aggregate scoring match in this division saw Royton defeat Werneth. With Chirag Khurana hitting 79 they scored 223 for 6 , before Werneth replied with 221 for 9. Ali Muzaffar making 74.

Moorside hit 241 for 7 at home to bottom club Ashton who scored 105 all out with Siraj Kadodia making 50 of those runs.

Micklehurst , with Stuart Chamley scoring 53, totalled 131 away to Middleton. Chris Williams taking 5 for 41 for the home side. He then scored 66 as he shared an opening stand of 111 with Harry Gee 55 as Middleton 134 for 2 won by eight wickets.

Darren Shadford hit 139 before being run out for Uppermill when they faced Oldham. Uppermill scoring 260 for 4. Oldham had no answer to Uppermill Professional Ayaz Tasawar with 5 for 36 as they reached 136 all out.

Shaw had veteran Mel Whittle to thank as he makes another comeback. Friarmere had no answer as he took 6 for 22 when dismissing them for 105. Ishtiaq Hussain being principal run scorer with 63

Shaw then replied with 108 for 7.

Hollinwood won by 50 runs playing at home to Milnrow. Batting first they were all out for 171, but Milnrow could only reach 121 when they batted.

The clear league leaders in this division are Middleton with 47 points followed by Royton with 37.
