Cricket: Norden pick up five points at Greenfield

Date published: 04 September 2017

Norden picked up five points from their visit to Greenfield on Saturday.

They totalled 183 then dismissed the home side for 152.

Norden suffered early blows as Josh Tolley was caught for 12 after Rehan Udwadia had been bowled by Alan Robinson without scoring.

Dominic Humphreys hit 20 before being trapped leg before by Jake Caudwell, and Ash Gowers added 48 before going leg before to Cadd.

Stand-in professional Suleman Khan was on 47 when he was run out.

Khan later took six for 58 in a 15-overs spell. Greg Butterworth also bowled 15 overs and returned three for 46.

The match brought what must have been a first for Stags with three members of a family in the team. Chris Humphreys was joined by sons Dominic and Joe.

Back at Stag Park it was also a family affair as Norden seconds beat Monton and Weaste seconds.

Ross Collin scored 136 as Stags piled up 387 for six, then brother Jason took six for 15 as Monton were bowled out for 94.
