Following Ray’s death on Monday, the club has been inundated with messages of condolence from people across the rugby league community.

As a mark of respect, a moment of silence will be observed before kick off and both sets of players will wear black arm bands.

There will also be a book of remembrance open at the stadium where friends of Ray can share their memories of ‘Mr Hornets’.

A spokesperson for Hornets said: "The club would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every person who sent messages of condolence and shared their memories of a true rugby league and Rochdale Hornets legend.

"We hope you will join us on Sunday to celebrate Ray’s life on what is set to be an emotional day."
