Rochdale did have opportunities to score, with six consecutive short corners awarded to them in the first half, but the Bury defence proved too difficult to crack.

Half time: Bury Ladies 3 - 0 Rochdale Ladies

Rochdale settled in a second half that saw a marked improvement in the quality of thier play, but the damage was done in the first half and Bury added a fourth goal without reply.

Captain Kie Leech: “We did not really turn up in the first half and Bury took advantage of that. The second half was totally different ball game and if we had played like that from the start it would have been a very different story.”

Player-of-the-match went to Kie Leech.
