Both teams were hoping to continue their unbeaten start to the season, but Mayfield A team lost a close contest against Cumbrians Hindpool Tigers at home in a top of the table clash.
The Rochdale side had a different look to previous weeks due to call ups to the first team, but all the players gave full effort in a narrow loss that showed the quality and strength of both teams.
Mayfield scored tries through Joe Schofield, Luke Hartley, Jordan Parr and Callum Corcoran, whilst Cameron Connolly kicked three goals.
