Sailing: Steve Crook best overall at Hollingworth Lake
Date published: 18 April 2018
Hollingworth Lake Sailing Club House
In good great conditions for racing at Hollingworth Lake, spinnakers were flying, and the chase for the lead was held by Steve Crook and Sally Townend in a Merlin Rocket, eagerly followed by Chris Massey with Geoff Edwards in a Scorpion.
The southerly breeze provided an ideal situation for these boats to plane at speed across the lake.
Steve Crook was best overall with a couple of bullets, while Chris Massey had two runner-up spots. The other race bullet was taken by Andy Carter in a Topper.
As the weather improves, more boats are taking to the water.
There was a good turnout of young sailors in Toppers, with Jacob Din doing best on the day.
Jacob Din is leading overall having been racing every Sunday. Close behind is Jasper Bramwell.
