Rugby League: Hindpool Tigers 16 - 56 Mayfield A

Mayfield A moved within one victory of clinching back-to-back promotions after an emphatic 56-16 victory away at Hindpool tigers on Saturday.

Mayfield started the first half the stronger of the two sides as hooker rob Kershaw worked his way over from close range, Hartley converted.

After good work down the right side the ball found its way to Jackson Kelly who crossed under the posts. Hartley again added the two.

An error in the opposition half saw Hindpool regain possession and score in the corner.

Good work from Zak Hartley put Hayden Lewis in, Hartley again converted.

Hindpool responded quickly and pulled it back to 16-10 at the break. 

The second half really saw Mayfield step it up a gear.

Good work from Jack Rush and Sean Hurley saw Rush crash over the line.

Kershaw got his second of the day not long after.

Corey Newsham carried on his good form getting a brace. Hartley adding all the extras.

Hindpool pulled a score back before Mayfield's McDaid went over the try line.

The try of the day saw John Marsland intercept on his own try line and race the lengthof the field to touch down.

Zak Hartley finished the victory with an individual effort.

The win sees Mayfield four points clear at the top with a game in hand, and looking likely to gain promotion to the Premier Division.
