Date published: 03 January 2019

Sam Hart has returned to his parent club, Blackburn Rovers following the completition of his loan spell and Brendan Moore's contract with Rochdale has been terminated by mutual consent to enable him to return to America.

On Hart’s departure, manager Keith Hill said: “I must thank Sam. He is a great lad and he has been a real pleasure to work with. I wish him every success in his footballing future.”

Goalkeeper Brendan Moore is also leaving after the club agreed to terminate his contract which was due to end in June 2019.

Keith Hill said: “Brendan’s decision came out of the blue but I’ve listened to him, and from a compassionate point of view, I understand his desires and I won’t stand in his way.

“There is a certain amount of bravery to come and knock on my door and explain how things have materialised, so I respect and admire for him that. He’s been playing first team football but emotionally and due to his family ties, he has come to the decision that wants to go back home and forge a career in the USA. I’ve reluctantly agreed to that because it’s the right thing to do for Brendan.

“I’d like to thank him for everything he has done for us and wish him all the best for the future.”

In a statement, Rochdale AFC thanked both players for their efforts during their time at the club and wished them all the best for the future.
