Rochdale football teams scores sponsorship from local opticians

A brand-new kit is set to help Sacred Heart Football Club kick off the new season in style after a Rochdale opticians agreed to sponsor the squad.

Specsavers on Yorkshire Street has provided new bright red warm-up tops featuring the group’s logo on the back, for the club’s first team, a squad of 20 players, who compete in the Manchester Football League’s premier division.

Danny McWilliams, first team manager, Sacred Heart Football Club, said: "We’re thrilled that a company with a strong brand as Specsavers stepped up and offered to buy new training jerseys for this season. 

"The logo looks great on the shirts and the lads look very smart when they’re warming up before a match."

Sarah Culshaw, Specsavers Rochdale store director, added: "Sport plays such a huge part in the lives of so many in the area, whether they’re young or young at heart.

"As a local business we are passionate about supporting our community, so it’s great to have the opportunity to sponsor Sacred Heart FC, which is renowned for its passion for the game as well as its longstanding history."
