Date published: 26 October 2022

A Muay Thai fighter from Whitworth has brought home the world champion belt after fighting in the XFC World Championships in Rome.

Lauren Phee, 18, competed in the K1 Kickboxing World Tournament where she defeated her opponent – from a well-known favourite gym in Romania – by a second-round knockout.

The following day, she competed in the Muay Thai Tournament where she picked up silver after a touch fight against a strong French opponent.

Lauren trains at Wai Kru Thai Boxing in Burnley and also held the junior titles of twice British Champion and North West Champion. She has also previously been rated number two in the UK in the junior rankings.

Lauren is looking to go back to Italy next year to defend her titles and is also looking for local competitions.
