Hollingworth Lake Sailing Club

The weather forecast for Sunday 30 October included moderate breezes. The rain had brought the lake level up a bit. With that in mind, four young girls launched their Toppers but soon found the gusty south westerly wind was too strong. Seniors, all in single-handers did get out for three races.

There were three different race winners. Tom Daniel in a Laser took the first win ahead of Daisy Fisher, also Laser (with a smaller Radial sail) and Nick Brook in third place in his Phantom.

In the second race, there were a few testing the chilly waters of the lake with a capsize. However, Chris Massey, in a Phantom, found the way to win ahead of Tom Daniel and a tie for third place between Les Burns in a Laser (Radial sail) and Martin Brennan in his Solo.

The day was taking its toll for the third race as only three boats came to the start line. Les Burns sailed steadily to take the win ahead of Chris Massey with Tom Daniel in close third place. Overall, Chris Massey won the day.
