Rochdale athlete wins ladies triple jump gold at British Indoor Athletics Championships

Date published: 04 March 2023

An athlete from Rochdale won the ladies triple jump at the British Indoor Athletics Championships in Birmingham on 18 February.

Mary Elcock, 27, took gold in the women’s triple jump event that came down to the wire.

The event had been led by Lily Hulland before Elcock equalled that effort in the fourth round.

Elcock’s 12.71m – a personal best – was enough to give her gold in the final round after Hulland couldn’t register a mark.
