Maryam said: "I woke up really early in the morning. It was still dark outside and a long drive. I saw lots of people that came to the competition. I was a little nervous but excited to perform my katas, because that's what Sensai Ansari has taught me, I have been practising every day at home with mummy. I am happy I won two medals."

Maryam will be travelling to Daytona, Florida in July where she will be competing under the Great Britain Martial Arts Team in a three-day tournament.
