Rochdale 0 - 0 Boreham Wood

Date published: 19 April 2024

Rochdale were held to a goalless draw by relegation threatened Boreham Wood in their final game at the Crown Oil Arena this season on Tuesday night (16 April).

Boreham Wood started well and scored in the fifth minute only for the goal to be ruled offside.

Dale goalkeeper Jacob Chapman was called upon to save from an overhead kick by David Agbontohoma before Lee Ndlovu hit a shot wide of the far post after Chapman failed to hold on to a high ball under pressure from two Boreham Wood forwards.

However, it was Dale who had the best chances in the first half with D'Mani Mellor coming close, and Ryan East hitting the crossbar with a shot from distance.

Rochdale had most of the possession in the second half, but they struggled to break down the Boreham Wood defence; their only attempt on target being a Mellor shot saved by goalkeeper Nathan Ashmore.

Dale visit Southend for the last game of the season on Saturday and the travelling Dale fans will be hoping for better against an in-form side only just outside the play-offs despite a ten-point deduction.
