Dale appeal for pitch help

The Spotland pitch
Rochdale groundsman Phil Collinson has appealed for help from Dale fans this morning as he clears the snow from the pitch in the hope of getting tomorrow's game against Morecambe on.
Phil and a gang of supporters are already hard at work removing the snow from the playing surface but Phil says the more help, the more chance there is of getting the game on.
The pitch underneath the snow is in near-perfect condition so, depending on the overnight temperatures, the game should get the go ahead if the snow can be cleared.
The groundstaff hope to clear some of the snow today and then cover the cleared areas with pitch covers. They are asking for fans to turn up again tomorrow morning to clear the rest of the snow, which will act as an insulator overnight.
If the game goes ahead Dale could find themselves in the automatic promotion places in League Two by 5pm tomorrow afternoon as they go in search of their fourth successive victory.
