Dale chairman looks for big push

Date published: 28 February 2008

Rochdale Football Club Chairman Chris Dunphy is as excited as anyone about the optimism surrounding the Fan Drive campaign and the race for the Superfan 2008 title.

He said: "There is a real feel good factor about this campaign and on a personal as well as club level I would like to thank each and every one of the fans that have contributed to what has been a real 'Team Rochdale' effort.

"It is still not too late for another big push and for supporters everywhere to perhaps ask someone else to come to the game with them. Though our result last weekend ceratinly wasn't what we would have wanted we are still very much in the play-off race, and with Chesterfield being one of the teams above us this could prove to be a pivotal game.

"We keep on saying it but for Keith and his team to come out and see Spotland with 5000 people in it and behind them would be such a boost.

"We would say that to avoid congestion it might be a good idea if everyone gets here a little earlier than usaul and to that end we have reduced the prices of one or two beers in Studd's Bar. You could therefore encourage your new visitors to sample a Dale Ale before the game.

"Once again though on behalf of the Board and staff at the club I really want to thank everyone for their fantastic efforts. Our fans are indeed the best in the world."
