Weather puts match under threat

Following the recent run of arctic weather conditions and the forecast for it to continue for the remainder of the week Rochdale AFC have held discussions with officials from Charlton Athletic and the Football League and will be holding a 10am pitch inspection tomorrow (Friday 3 December 2010) morning.
Dale’s Chief Executive Colin Garlick said: “Like many clubs we are at the mercy of the weather and though we have and are doing everything possible to play the game this weekend, it is looking increasingly unlikely the game will go ahead.
“With that in mind we have held discussions with our counter parts from Charlton Athletic and officials from the Football League to inspect the pitch on Friday morning to save Charlton travelling and the relevant expense and inconvenience a late postponement brings to both clubs.”
