Dale Chairman issues rallying cry

Date published: 31 January 2008

After four successive away victories the Dale team return to Spotland on Saturday for a crunch, potential promotion six pointer, against Darren Ferguson's Peterborough United.

Now well into the club's Centenary Season, the long awaited dream of promotion has a very good chance of becoming reality. To that end Chairman Chris Dunphy has issued a rallying cry asking the town to get behind Keith Hill's team.

Mr Dunphy said: "The feel good factor that we had in the summer has stayed with us throughout the season and our hard core of fans have been magnificent in their support. Season ticket sales and shop sales have been phenomenal. It never ceases to amaze me when we travel the country and see our fans in numbers come rain or shine. In the last few days they have travelled with us to Milton Keynes and Chester and been a twelth man for the team.

"Saturday is a massive game for us and what we could really do with is seeing and hearing the whole public of Rochdale really behind the team. We would ask that each and every one of our loyal fans gets out there, sells the game and brings anyone and everyone that they know to the game. Seeing the stands full would give the players a massive lift when they come out for what is a vital game.

"Thanks to Keith and his players we have a terrific product to market and we know that if we can get extra people through the gates those players will not let us down. Let us all work together to make Saturday a real day to remember."
