‘Excellent candidates on shortlist’ for manager’s job

Date published: 07 June 2011

The first series of interviews for the vacant manager’s position at Rochdale AFC have been conducted and the shortlist of potential managers has been drawn up.

Keith Hill departed the club last week and since then they have been looking for a replacement.

Chairman Chris Dunphy said: “I just want to keep supporters in the picture with regard to the manager situation and after the first round of interviews we have some excellent candidates on the shortlist.”

He added: “We certainly have a tough decision to make but it is nice to be in a position when there is a difficult decision to be made, it is a great problem to have.”

Mr Dunphy concluded: “Hopefully we should be in a position to name our new manager soon and then we can begin to prepare for next season.

“Our aim is to keep the progression moving in the right direction and our appointment of a new manager will reflect the ambitions of myself and the board as custodians and supports of Rochdale AFC.”
