Rochdale AFC’s Football in the Community Trust, through their joint initiative with the Co-operative, has delivered their multi-sports programme to youngsters at over 50 primary schools since the project began in September.
The Trust and the Co-operative have been working closely together to encourage more children to get involved in sport and enjoy healthy lifestyles through their roadshows, which has seen free fun coaching sessions offered to all local primary schools.
Children who took part in the programme were given a free ticket for a Rochdale AFC home match. The offer was extended to their mum, dad or guardian, allowing an adult to accompany their child to the game for just five pounds.
Two schools have also received brand new kits free of charge after being chosen as the winners of their feedback competition.
The Year 2/3 pupils at St Peter’s Primary School on Muriel Street received the first kit, while Alkrington Primary has been chosen as the most recent winners.
