Shawclough U10s Thunder
First and second in the league met to fight out a closely contested game which finished in a draw leaving Shawclough Thunder still top by two points.
Both teams started well but a little cagey.
Shawclough Thunder took a two goal lead into the half time break.
In the second half, Soccer Village found another gear and started to excerpt pressure and 15 minutes from the end the pressure paid as they scored twice to level.
Soccer Village pressed for a winner but Shawclough defended well and tried to counter but Soccer Village also defended to a high standard.
Manager Eugene Warrener said after the game: “We love playing Soccer Village Green and they’re a top outfit. They have a number of very good players so the games are always close with some great football.”
