Molly Howell, a young windsurfer from Milnrow, recently competed in the Techno293 world championships in France.

15-year-old Molly joined 30 young Great Britain Windsurfers at the championships.

The competition was described as “stiff” and saw over 400 windsurfers take part - Molly and was placed 58th in her fleet.

Molly started windsurfing at Hollingworth Lake in 2009 and completed her Windsurf level 1 and started attending Hollingworth Hunters Team 15.

A pupil at Crompton House School, Molly enjoyed competing as part of the Team 15 events and was good enough to get a place on the North West Zone squad in 2012. This has seen her compete in national events and undergo training at venues such as Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy.

Molly is now due to compete in Pwllheli in August and is looking forward to more winter training to come.

Molly has also applied for a place on the National Junior Squad and hopes that this year, she will be successful.
