Date published: 16 October 2014
Joe Schofield and Jack McConachie of Mayfield Under 16s rugby team were both selected for the Lancashire squad for the recent game against Yorkshire.
McConachie was very unlucky and picked up an injury before the game was played but Schofield played the full game at centre, getting good reviews and scoring a try in the 30 - 16 victory.
There is a return fixture to played on 26 October at a venue yet to be named.
Both lads will be hoping to feature in the game.
Mayfield Mustangs chairman Wayne Hartley said: "I am overjoyed at the news.
"These two lads are the epitome of the modern rugby league player, strong, fit and dedicated, both to the sport and to their club.
"They are a credit to everyone who has been involved in their progress through the ranks.
"If they are selected for the next game there is no doubt in my mind they will do themselves proud."
