Wardle Academy top the table in Rochdale schools rugby tournament

Wardle Academy topped the table in the annual Rochdale Schools Rugby League tournament and take their place in the final on Saturday 18 April at Spotland Stadium, prior to Rochdale Hornets fixture against Barrow Raiders.
Wardle Academy, St Anne’s Academy, Matthew Moss High School, and St Cuthbert’s RC Business and Enterprise College, took part in what proved to be a hotly contested round-robin style tournament at Matthew Moss High School on Tuesday 10 March.
Wardle topped the table with nine points having won all three of their games.
St Cuthbert’s finished second after losing 24 – 12 against Wardle in their only defeat.

Wardle 40 - 28 St Anne’s
St Cuthbert’s 20 – 12 Matthew Moss
Round Two
St Cuthbert’s 28 – 16 St Anne’s
Wardle 24 – 8 Matthew Moss
Round Three
St Cuthbert’s 12 – 24 Wardle
Matthew Moss 16 – 20 St Anne’s
The final will kick off at 4.05pm on 18 April, followed by Rochdale Hornets versus Barrow Raiders at 5.30pm.
