Rocha Jiu-Jitsu win nine medals at national competition
Members of Rocha Jiu-Jitsu have secured nine medals after competing in the National BJJ Junior Championships.
Nine members of the club took part in the competition against competitors from up and down the country.
The results from the competition were:
- Oliwia Lis – Gold
- Poppy Johnson – Gold
- Rohail Dad – Silver
- Joseph Foster- Bronze
- Vinny Burrill – Bronze
- Max Sweeney- Bronze
- Jessica Connor – Bronze
- Alfie Connor – Bronze
- Konrad Popenda – Bronze
Kamil Tomaszewski, who runs the club, said: “The hard work put into training has now paid off. We have been running the club for quite a while now and this was the opportunity for the kids to test themselves. It was also a test for the coaching team.
“The two girls that got gold medals were invited to the selection training in Birmingham on 29 March for the BJJ National Youth team. If they are selected, and they have a great chance, they will be travelling around the world to represent the country and the club.”
