Donal McDermott has put pen to paper on a one year deal following a successful trial at Rochdale AFC.
The 25-year-old, a graduate of the Manchester City youth set-up, has had spells at clubs including Bournemouth, Huddersfield Town and Scunthorpe United during his career. He has most recently played for the title winning Irish Premier Division side Dundalk, before joining Salford City and Ramsbottom United this year.
Dale Manager Keith Hill said: “There’s a special, special talent there.
“What we’ve seen since he has been at the football club is desire and a real focus on not losing any more football time.
“There’s a quality player there and I’m so glad we’ve signed him.”
