Jude English of Hamer Amateur Boxing Club
Hamer's female boxer Jude English progressed in the National Schoolgirl Finals with a bye and to keep her ready for the task ahead she was matched against Alisha Noonan of St John's ABC for the Macauley Moran Memorial Amateur Boxing Show at Saint Kents Irish Social Club, Wilbraham Road, Fallowfield, Manchester on 16 May.
The bell rang for the first round and Jude was instantly caught with a big right-hand punch which forced her to get right into the action and she began to unload her own right-hand, which constantly sent the head back of Noonan, which resulted in the St John's girl receaving a standing eight count.
The referee allowed the contest to continue and the 12-year-old Hamer Boxing Club girl rushed over to land another right hand and the contest was instantly stopped in her favour.
