Three new junior rugby league teams are to be established in Rochdale thanks to grants from Rugby League Cares.
Rochdale Cobras, Mayfield Mustangs, and Littleborough Wolves will all run training for children under the age of seven after being awarded the grants.
Rugby League Cares aims to create 120 new clubs at under sevens level to celebrate 120 years of rugby league.
Rochdale will hold it's own celebration of that anniversary when the Rugby Football League Founder's Walk arrives on 22 July.
As one of the founding members of the Northern Union the walk will pass through the town as it visits all 22 original clubs.
There will also be community walks and the unveiling of a blue plaque at the site of Rochdale Hornets' first home, now ASDA in the town centre.
