Vincenti nominated for League 1 Player of the Month Award

Date published: 07 October 2015

Rochdale midfielder Peter Vincenti has been nominated for the September Sky Bet League 1 Player of the Month Award. Vincenti tapped into the richest goal scoring form of his career, scoring in four separate games and over half Dale’s goals in the month. His support play from midfield, timing his runs into the box to perfection, has become vital to Dale.

The other nominees are:

Tom Bradshaw (Walsall) – striker
In the month in which Walsall impressed Jose Mourinho, the 23-year-old led the line with his usual intelligence and contributed three goals. A brilliant brace in the 2-0 win over Doncaster Rovers included an impudent inch-perfect chip.

Leon Clarke (Bury) – striker
Now at the 16th club of his nomadic career, the 30-year-old has made a stunning impact at Gigg Lane, bringing others into play with his touch and movement as well as scoring four goals in five games to lift Bury into the play-off places.

Jamie Jones (Colchester United) – goalkeeper
To make one match-winning penalty save is impressive enough. To make two in five days is worthy of recognition. As well as his heroics against Sheffield United and Gillingham, Jones also brought stability to the defence in his first month in Essex.

The winner will be announced on Friday 9 October 2015

The judging panel comprises Sky Sports’ Football League expert Don Goodman; Football League Head of Communications John Nagle; League Managers’ Association Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet Football Trading Manager Paul Lowery.
